During a year of setbacks, we were inspired to do more.

JAMIE DANIELS FOUNDATION

The year 2020 has many reasons to be remembered. It has been unique and unprecedented, presenting a host of challenges for almost everyone – especially those struggling with Substance Use Disorder. But this setback has driven us to do more.

It has reminded us how important it is to turn our tragic loss into formidable change for others – to spread Jamie’s story and our foundation’s message, and to continue supporting community organizations doing essential work to provide preventative programming, guidance and services to those struggling with Substance Use Disorder and recovery.

With your support, we have persisted among unusual circumstances establishing a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund granting more than $30,000 to directly support organizations helping individuals suffering with Substance Use Disorder. Read stories about those impacted, here.

This is in addition to our grant support of the Michigan State University Collegiate Recovery Program and Leaders Advancing Healthy Communities – each prioritizing college and high school students in supportive or preventative capacities.

We also successfully hosted our Second Annual Celebrity Roast, transitioning to a virtual and televised format, with guest of honor Scotty Bowman which raised more than $255,000! You can catch a recap on our website with featured guests including Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus, JK Simmons, Jim Leyland, Dick Vitale and several of the Red Wings players who won Stanley Cups while being coached by Bowman.

The year 2020 has made us more thankful than ever before of your continued support. It is because of you, we are doing more to create change and help individuals and families have fulfilling and healthy lives. Thank you for following along with us on this journey – we wish you a safe, healthy and Happy New Year.
