Students in Michigan State University’s Collegiate Recovery Community share their appreciation for the Jamie Daniels Foundation and its collegiate recovery efforts.
At the Jamie Daniels Foundation, we often talk about the power of prevention, recovery, and reducing stigma — but sometimes, it’s the words of those directly impacted that tell the story best.
Since establishing our partnership with Michigan State University’s Collegiate Recovery Community, the Jamie Daniels Foundation has provided more than 50 scholarships to support students in recovery — helping to remove financial barriers, create stability, and open doors to opportunity.
This fall, several of those scholarship recipients took time to handwrite notes of gratitude, sharing in their own words what your support has meant to them. These are just a few of their messages:
“Being a student in recovery is difficult — this scholarship helped me pay rent at my off-campus, drug- and alcohol-free apartment. I cannot express in words how grateful I am.” — Kira, MSU student
“This scholarship has helped me and my family immensely and has given me more time to focus on my studies and my recovery.” — Emma, MSU student
“I’m so grateful that I am able to continue my education and recovery through this.” — Olivia, MSU student
“As a student in recovery, I am truly grateful for your support. This year at MSU has been very fruitful, and I am so thankful for the opportunities that followed.” — Jennie, MSU student
These four notes represent just a few of the lives touched through JDF’s scholarship support at MSU — and each one is a reminder that recovery and education can go hand in hand.
Through your generosity, the Jamie Daniels Foundation continues to help students in recovery stay in school, find community, and build healthy, hopeful futures.
